Maizie
Meet sweet, petite Maizie. She’s a darling little girl that just wants to be loved and cuddled. Maizie can be a bit shy until she gets to know you, but then she is all loves and purrs. Maizie needs a calm home that can offer her love and patience while she gets comfortable. Because of her limited vision and personality, we are looking for a home with no young children that might frighten her. Maizie loves jingle balls and pompoms to play with, and she likes to hide in cardboard boxes. She is wonderful with other gentle kitties and has been around calm dogs. This beautiful girl came to us with a terrible infection in both eyes. It took a long time and a lot of love and care to get her well. Thankfully Mazie is doing much better. Maizie came to us after she was found stuck in a window well. She was freezing, dehydrated and malnourished. Maizie had infections in both of her eyes and unfortunatly her left eye had already ruputred. Our vet was able to do the enucleation and clean out her eye socket so there is no more infection. Maizie will be so much more comfortable and happy with it done.
When we took Maizie in to get the last stitches out of her removed eye and have the other eye checked, we unfortunately we found she has Ocular synechia. This is an eye condition where the iris adheres to lens and can cause the pupil to be unable to contract properly. Synechiae can be caused by trauma or ulceration. There isn't much we can do for it. In a small percentage of cases, it can lead to certain types of glaucoma which may require enucleation. Maizie has reduced vision, but even with that Maizie is still a sweet and happy girl. She likes snuggles and playing with the other kittens. We'll be looking for a very special home for her
